Google Business Profile checklist for jewelry stores
Work this list in order. Most jewelry stores gain measurable map visibility from the first three items alone, and none of them cost anything.
Categories
Set one primary category matching your dominant revenue source. A store where repair pays the bills should not be primary-categorized purely as a retail jeweler, and a gold buyer should not sit under a generic jeweler category.
Add every legitimate secondary category. Common ones missed in this trade: jewelry repair service, jewelry appraiser, gold dealer, silver dealer, watch repair service, watch store, diamond dealer, jewelry designer, pawn shop, coin dealer.
Review categories twice a year. Google adds and retires them, and a retired category can silently drop you from a result set.
Services and products
List every service as its own item with a real description: ring resizing, chain repair, prong retipping, stone setting, pearl restringing, watch battery replacement, appraisal for insurance, custom design, gold buying.
Use the products section for categories rather than individual SKUs unless inventory is stable. Categories stay accurate and still carry the keywords.
Photos and media
Thirty-plus photos as a working floor: exterior from the road at the angle a driver sees, interior, cases, the bench, the parking situation, and real completed work.
Add new photos monthly. Recency affects how much media Google surfaces on your profile.
No stock photography. It is recognizable, it does not match the site, and it costs trust at the exact moment someone is deciding.
Hours, attributes and messaging
Hours accurate including holidays. Open now is a live filter, and for pawn shops and gold buyers it is a large share of the highest urgency demand.
Set every applicable attribute: appointment required or not, wheelchair accessible, women owned, veteran owned, payment types, on-site services.
If you enable messaging, answer it. An unanswered message is worse than not offering the channel.
Reviews and posts
A written process for asking at the moment of highest satisfaction, and a response to every review inside a couple of days.
Post monthly at minimum. Posts do not move rank much on their own, but they signal an active profile and they occupy space on the result.
Verify against the site
The name, address, phone and hours on your website must match the profile exactly. A mismatch is the single most common reason a well-optimized profile underperforms.
